Affiliate disclosure

Last updated November 9, 2026

Short version: some links on ScoutUpgrade are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission from the retailer. You pay the same price either way.

Which links are affiliate links

Links to retailers such as Amazon in our product blocks and "Browse options" buttons may be affiliate links. We put a short disclosure line directly above every block of these links. In our code they're marked rel="sponsored", so search engines know they're commercial links too.

What affiliate links don't change

  • Retailers don't pay to be included and don't review or approve our guides.
  • We recommend a product type or product because it fits the reader's problem, not because of the commission.
  • We don't show prices, star ratings or stock status, because they change often. Always check the retailer's page before you buy.
  • Links to official sources (support pages, announcements) are never affiliate links.

Search links

Many of our links open a retailer's search results for a product type, such as "2 TB PS5 M.2 SSD with heatsink", rather than one specific item. We do this when we haven't verified an exact product. Read the listing and check it matches the requirements in our guide.
