About ScoutUpgrade

Last updated November 9, 2026

ScoutUpgrade is a small, independent publication that helps people make sense of gaming upgrades: console storage first, and more kinds of gear over time. We write for people who want a straight answer and the reasons behind it, not a wall of specs.

What we publish

  • Guides that explain a decision step by step, such as which SSD works in a PS5 or when a USB drive is enough on Xbox.
  • Free tools, starting with the GTA 6 Storage Planner, which tells you in seconds whether you have enough free space.
  • Picks that point you to the right type of product and what to check on the listing.

How we research

Each guide starts from the official source: the console maker's support pages, the publisher's own announcements and the manufacturer's spec sheets. We list those sources at the end of every guide, together with the date we last reviewed it.

When something is not official — for example, a reported release detail — we say so in plain words: reported, rumored or unconfirmed. We do not make up prices, star ratings, test results, reviews or testimonials. We don't claim to have tested products we haven't tested.

How the site makes money

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy something after clicking one, the retailer may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing extra. Retailers do not pay us to be included, and they don't see or approve what we write. The full details are on our affiliate disclosure page.

Not affiliated with game or console makers

ScoutUpgrade is fan-made and unofficial. We are not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Microsoft or any retailer. We don't use their logos or artwork.
